Llanfihangel-y-traethau Church There are places for 16 members
Date: Tuesday ???
Meet in the car park by the church at 2.00pm. The road up to the church is narrow.
Guide: Rev Robert Hughes
Description: The Rev. Robert Hughes will welcome us at the church. He will guide us around this interesting burial ground, one which is a rich source of local farm names and associations with the sea. We shall also sit in the church to hear about its history.
3.45 pm. Drive to nearby Tregwylan Hotel for an afternoon tea. There is a charge of £6 a head for this visit, which includes a £1 contribution to the church.
Directions: Make your way to Harlech or Talsarnau.
From Harlech, take the A496, past the railway station (to your right) and Ysgol Ardudwy (school on your left). After about 2.5 miles, you come to Ynys. Drive through Ynys as far as Ian Rayner’s carpet shop on your left. Immediately after the shop, turn left up a short, steep hill. Drive a few hundred yards till you reach the church.
From Talsarnau: Take the A496 towards Harlech (the lower of the two roads turns right over a bridge after leaving Talsarnau). Over level crossing and left on the main road into Ynys. Do not take the first entry immediately on the right (Maes Mihangel) but take the next right just before Ian Rayner’s carpet shop. Up a short steep hill, drive a few hundred yards till you reach the church.
