Merioneth Historical and Record Society
The Society welcomes new members. It is particularly pleased that its contact with schools is improving through the Adnabod Ardudwy Project.
The Society, founded in 1939, encourages the study of local history and the preservation of local records. Each year it holds lectures on historical and archaeological topics. It also organises field meetings and excursions. The Society publishes an annual journal and has published the important ‘History of Merioneth’ Volumes I and II.
The Society presented the bid for funding the Adnabod Ardudwy-Knowing Ardudwy project to the Heritage Lottery Fund. It enthusiastically supports the work of the project and the links with local societies, schools and partner organisations.
