GIFT AID

You will probably have heard about Gift Aid – the Government Scheme that enables Charities to reclaim tax on donations and subscriptions received from people who pay income tax or capital gains tax.  The scheme replaces Deeds of Covenant & at present would add 28p to every £1 donated/subscribed.

Note:

1      You must pay an amount of income tax and/or Capital Gains tax at least equal to the tax the charity reclaims on your donations in the tax year.

2      You can cancel the declaration at any time, including a change in your circumstances that mean you no longer pay tax on your income and the Capital Gains tax equal to the tax the charity reclaims.   

3      If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief in your Self Assessment Tax Return.

4      Please notify us if you change your address.
