Walking in Minffordd
Cefn Coch pupils use their feet to follow parish paths this summer.
Pupils walked to the ancient house of Rhos, on the old shores of the Traeth Mawr. Here they heard tales from Mrs Nan Griffiths of travellers resting at Rhos, whilst waiting for the tide to turn. Several local tales of murder and the capture of 'Hwntw Mawr' kept the pupils interested.
Leaving Rhos, pupils walked to the site of the old sea shore before the Cob was built across the Glaslyn estuary. They climbed the hill towards the south shore of Penrhyndeudraeth and arrived at Abergafran. Here travellers going to the south would wait for a ferry to take them accross the Dwyryd estuary. From here they could see the parish church at Llanfihangel-y-traethau
