Where is Ardudwy ?

This is a map of the ancient commote of Ardudwy.

Ardudwy

This map shows the boundaries of the medieval commote of Ardudwy.  It remained thus intact until Nanmor was lost to Caernarvonshire during the 19th century. Ardudwy became part of the new county of Meirionnydd after 1284.  It comprises 14 parishes, ten in the northern part, known as Ardudwy Uwch Artro (above the river Artro) and four below the river, Ardudwy Is Artro.
